A member asked:

Can you tell me if prolonged stress can lead to an increased level of which hormones?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stress hormones: Stress hormones are generally not good for the body. The main potentially harmful one is cortisol. But there are several others including epinephrine. In the short term these are fine and may help you in a fight/flight scenario. However chronic high levels will lead to insulin resistance. weight gain, hypertension and diabetes.
