Many ways!: Alcohol brings down the threshold of nerve cells and make them more likely to fire off (RUM FITS) Sudden withdrawal can cause a seizure and then there are situations when prolonged use is related to cerebral atrophy, certain vitamin deficiencies or vascular events that in turn can cause seizures
