Depends: It is important in the short-term to seek help via your primary physician and a psychiatrist or therapist experienced with eating disorders. Some basic laboratories and often an upper GI scope "EGD" are reasonable options depending on the severity / frequency / duration of any purging. Please do not hesitate to share your struggles with you doctor. You are not alone and treatment is available.

From a dental perspective the harm to teeth can be extremely serious. Use of a protective guard and baking soda ‘retainer gel’ may help but if weight loss is desired consider asking your physician about the new application of diabetic medications such as Ozempic and Metformin.
