AMA - age >35: Advanced maternal age (AMA) refers to women who get pregnant and give birth at the age of 35 or elder. AMA has been associated with certain adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes. At age 35 or greater, you have a higher risk of having a fetus with a chromosome anomaly ( i.e. Down Syndrome). There is also an increased risk of pregnancy complications such as gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia.
