High blood pressure: High blood pressure medication is given to try and normalize blood pressure. If blood pressure remains high, the chances of heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure and stroke are all significantly increased. Since we've been treating high blood pressure with the medications, all these complications have decreased significantly. We doctors believe it is worth the bother if the medications work
