Fear of vomiting: Emotophobia is fear of vomiting. It can happen with patients who have frequent nausea and vomiting (such as cancer patients who worry about symptoms with each dose of chemo) or it can be from bad vomiting episodes in the past. This may be related to a generalized anxiety disorder. If this is a symptom that is severe or happens frequently, talk to your doctor about treatment options.
