Needs Antibiotic!: UTI's need antibiotics! A lower tract infection can progress to a serious kidney infection quickly! That said, many urinary complaints in toddlers, vaginal redness, vaginal itching, are not truly a bacterial UTI. If her bottom is red, AND she does NOT have a fever or painful urination, then you can try a barrier cream for a day to see if she's better. Otherwise she'll need an exam.
