Nicotine spray: is no different than most other forms of nicotine replacement therapy, including gum and lozenges. The spray is more rapidly absorbed from nasal mucosa, so it decreases nicotine withdrawal and craving slightly more quickly than gum or lozenges. The gum is very thick (viscous) and difficult to chew, and can pull out loose fillings or teeth, and cause TMJ pain. I prefer to prescribe lozenges/patch.
