Why think of MS?: Often people wonder about having MS, and it's natural to be hesitant about this. Management of this condition is far better than it used to be though, many people have a benign course and a normal life span with this illness. Key factors in making the diagnosis are a careful history and physical exam, MRI of the brain and spinal cord, and a spinal tap. If in doubt, see a board-certified neuro.

See neurologist: The primary focus should be on either confirming or disconfirming your diagnosis. If you have MS, you will need to initiate treatment. Your physician can guide you toward understanding what is occurring.
