Used in ovarian stim: The most prevalent use of letrozole/femara is as hormonal therapy in er+ post-menopausal breast cancer. It is an aromatase inhibitor. In premenopausal women, ais will cause ovarian stimulation and actually increase estrogen levels leading them to be used by reproductive endocrinologists. There is even some use in newly DX premenopausal breast cancer pts for pretreatment egg stim/harvesting.
