Birth control: Before you have any sex, protected or otherwise, if you are serious about not getting pregnant quickly, please start some form of contraception to prevent an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. This is something you should sit down with an OB right now, and if you both agree, start Birth control pills before your period is over. Condoms and barrier contraception are not as effective, but will work
