NO DO NOT: Don't give the baby melatonin.Even in adults,melatonin is not a sleeping pill.It just tells the body clock to shift the sleep cycle to an earlier time.It will not do this to a baby and it may be harmful.I don't think anyone has tested melatonin in babies.It would make no sense.

Not safe: There is no established safe dose for infants or children. If you need to, get the kid up early the day of the flight & cut any nap very short. A sleepy baby is easier to travel with anyway. You have risk of a cranky baby but this often works.
