Yes: Dysfunctional uterine bleeding can be caused by endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, or other endocrine abnormalities. Ovulation and menstrual cycle may be affected as result of the underlying cause(s). However, it is possible to have normal ovulation despite having dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Yes: Absolutely. There are both e-apps and free old-fashioned paper calendars that you can print out and use to keep track of your menses. Consider starting a menstrual & body temperature diary. I advise an evaluation by a family doc or gynecologist in order to rule out worrisome reasons for abnormal bleeding such as a cervical lesion, fibroids, endometriosis or other endocrine/hormonal conditions.
