Generally it's fine: Thank you for taking the time to ask questions regarding preparation for colonoscopy. Appropriate bowel preparation is critical to ensure a safe and complete examination of the colon. In general, alcoholic beverages consumed over 24 hours before a colonoscopy should not interfere with the examination. If your husband has constipation, however, it may be best if he eat a light dinner on Wed too.

Yes: One beer 36 hours prior to a colonoscopy is not a problem or an issue. This should have no effect on the anesthesia. Make sure he keeps it to a beer, as if he gets too dehydrated prior to the prep the night before (Thursday), that can cause issues.

Sure.: Beer is generally a clear liquid. I would think that this would be ok but keep it in moderation. Otherwise keep it to the doctor's instruction. This should do nothing to interfere with the results or prevent good test.

Follow instructions: I am sure husband was given written instructions of what to do and not to do in order to prepare for the colonoscopy. In general I don't think there would be an issue with "having a beer" 2 days before the procedure. Check with the team to be certain.
