A single underlying: genetic or other medical cause of his ASD & hypotonia should be looked for. Lax or weak ligaments & joints often accompany low tone, decreased resistance to passive movement in muscles. When the "pulley system" of the pelvis & lower extremities is not aligned, pain can occur on standing or moving. A child neurologist or developmental/behavioral pediatrician & a pediatric orthopedist can help.
