A member asked:

Does a headache or symptoms have to be present to know if brain cells have been killed or damaged?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complex question: Obviously if a patient is having neurological deficits, new onset seizures then there may be changes in the brain matter including necrosis of brain tissue. There may be findings on imaging such as MRI but there may not be, although if the neurological deficits are significant then there would be findings on imaging most likely.
