Probably.: If you haven't had any reactions to mebeverine in the past, it is probably fine. I would not take a medication for the first time and then go to sleep, since there is always a risk of allergic reaction to almost any drug. It's instruction of taking before food probably has to do with getting maximum benefit of its anti-spasmodic properties for irritable bowel syndrome.
