I have been on the birth control pill for 2 weeks today. i am having pain in my ovaries. is this normal? could i be ovulating? on ortho tricyclen

Could be: If this is your first package of pills you could be ovulating. Studies show that the pills with only 21 days of active medicine don't always prevent ovulation but do protect against pregnancy in other ways. The triphasic pills are more likely not to prevent cysts than the monophasic. The pills with 24 active pills do a better job of preventing cysts.
