A member asked:

After spine surgery(microdiscectomy),what is best to sit down on a flat hard or soft surface?same for sleeping?

You're the chairman: Sitting in a chair puts the most pressure on your discs. Standing and lying flat, less.So if you must sit, get up frequently and stand.Another thing you can try at home is the lying chair (my invention):lie on your back next to a couch and put your legs up on the couch, then relax. Sort of like sitting in a chair that's been tipped backwards. When sitting, use a cushion behind your back for support
