A member asked:

Is it unusual for an elderly nonambulant pt to have multiple ulcers on his tongue is there any potential medical significance e.g. route for infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ulcers: I think you need to have it examined to see what the source of the ulcers are. They range from poor diet, teeth related, medication side effects to autoimmune problems. They may need to be cultured or biopsied. You are correct in that they may uncommonly be a route fro infection
