Unlikely thyroid: Thyroid problems seldom cause pain like that. Even if you had a nodule or a thyroid cancer, they may grow and cause a lump, but they do not usually cause pain that radiates up/down like you describe. See your doctor.

Yes possibly but: other causes should be explored. Pain in the areas you mention could be referred from structures in the anterior mediastinum (upper front part of chest), esophagus (GERD), heart, or upper lungs. Without a hands-on physical exam, proper history and possibly testing it would be impossible to narrow it down just based on areas of pain.
