Common problem: There are 4 options. Do nothing (the most common approach), surgically drain it with a needle, remove the entire cyst with surgery or strike it with a heavy object (historically the largest book in the house was used-usually a Bible-hence the name "Gideon Cyst". Occasionally at surgery the gangilon cyst turns out to be something else. A great number of cysts that are drained re-occur. See Dr.
