Time course?: Polyneuropathy typically begins in feet and spreads toward knees before hand become involved. Diabetes is the number one cause. Tarsal tunnel also starts in the feet and may progress to above the ankle ( instep most often) NCV test can provide objective data. Neuropathy evolves over months to years. Find the cause if confirmed toxic metabolic nutritional paraneoplastic, autoimmune etc.

I would rule out : Radiculopathy from a pinched nerve in the lower back....some medical hx would be helpful as well...are you diabetic?

NCV: Tingling can be a sign of nerve compression. I suggest getting a Nerve Conduction Velocity test of the lower extremity which will determine if such compression exists. This compression can be as high as your lower back.
