Hyperintensity: refers to the how a spot looks on a particular MRI sequence (usually a FLAIR or T2 weighted image.) Quite often we see tiny white spots in the white matter in people with migraine. These can be of no consequence or indicate inflammation (vasculitis) With MS we tend to see T2 /FLAIR lesions that are larger and in characteristic locations. Ask your doctor what he thinks.
