Often weight neutral: Hi - Latuda (lurasidone) is less likely than other atypical antipsychotics to cause weight gain. In studies, people tended to gain 1-2 lbs in the first 6 weeks, but then lose the weight, and sometimes more, by 1 year of treatment. However, every body is different, and there is always a potential for weight gain and worsening of lipids and onset or worsening of diabetes (ie metabolic syndrome) with atypicals.
