Asthma control?: Sounds like you strained yourself during the attack. This happens and is not usually a permanent injury but soreness can take time to resolve. Your entire rib cage is likely to have gotten distorted over years of asthma too. Get the asthma under control. Work w/ providers till it is. It's important and best done young - your future will be much brighter! Best wishes.

Costochrondritis: This is likely from inflammation in the joints between the ribs and the breast bone resulting from your efforts to breathe (or severe coughing) from the asthma attack. You need to see your doctor ASAP to get your asthma controlled.
