See an ENT doctor: Your history of smoking probably has nothing to do with your current symptom. First, eat a piece of soft bread, which will probably dislodge any piece of food, etcetera that is stuck there. If that doesn't clear it, then see an ENT doctor, who has the proper tools to examine you and define (and treat) the problem
