Benign cyst: Most lumps in the vulvar area are not contagious or life threatening. Cysts arise from a blocked skin gland, either Skene's duct cysts or Bartholin's cysts. Warm sitz baths can help; sometimes a doctor needs to incise and drain (I&D). A blocked hair follicle is most common "bump", along with clogged sweat glands & may require antibiotics and I&D. Genital herpes and other viruses cause multiple bumps

Hard to say.: That is a tough question to answer without knowing anatomically where it is. Lymph nodes are very common in the groin but check with a good OB/GYN
