Pedal edema: Pedal edema is a fancy word to describe your swollen lower legs and feet which can occur from compression of the main blood vessel that returns blood back to the heart from the baby.(inferior vena cava) Since you delivered 45 days ago, a return visit to the OB MD is warranted to be sure the swelling will go away.(6 week checkup), and if not a cause can be determined.
