Home if possible: It is always best if the person can stay in their own home but they would need help. Often a nurs who come to the home can assist but th individual would need a walker and easy access to a bathroom and bedroom and someone to fix meals. Many people use assisted living and last resort is a nursing home.

It really depends: Safety is often a key issue-does the person have good awareness of hazards and good judgement. It is quite difficult for an older adult to live alone. The location and deficits from the stroke are important. An occupational therapist is the best person to actually asses functioning which is often more important than cognition. Asst living offers socialization and easy access to help if needed.
