Medicine & alcohol: Is ativan (lorazepam) your only medication? It is not usually safe to mix ativan (lorazepam) and alcohol, and you should avoid mixing them. Taking them together can cause them both to be more potent than expected. If 1 mg ativan (lorazepam) is your only medication, it is probably safe to have one glass of wine 8 hours later. Be sure to have someone drive for you.
