Yes: Anal fissures are very sore, but they heal. The most important thing is to assure loose bowels. There are a number of creams and ointments: Numbing cream, if pain interferes with normal bowel movements ( Xylocine based ) Petroleum jelly Zinc oxide, 1% hydrocortisone cream, Preparation H, and other products Rectiv ( very expensive ).
