A member asked:

I am prescribed tramadol for irritable bowel syndrome is this good?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sort of: Tramadol is an opiate medication. It is different from other opiates because it does not occupy opiate receptors in the brain, causing a high. The end result of this is that it is less addictive. Some studies have shown some addictive potential, however. Use with caution, and only in close consultation with your doctor. Hope this helps!
