Vasomotor rhinitis: Sometimes fragrance or an odor may trigger a watery nasal discharge and sneezing. Commonly, newsprint, cleaning fluids or even sudden exposure to sunlight. These stimuli can activate a reflex vasodilation in the nasal passages that results in the symptoms described. Try a non sedating antihistamine like claritin or certizine. Unfortunately, most patients are best treated with Kleenex

Gustatory rhinitis: Some people get runny nose after hot or spicy foods. It's likely due to increased blood flow to the face, and possibly stimulation of parasympathetic nervous system, which results in increased fluid passing through the mucous membranes of the nose. Of course avoiding whatever triggers symptoms is simplest remedy, but prescription ipratropium nasal spray is cheap and very effective for this.
