Ideal blood pressure: A 59 year old male with no cardiovascular risks should have no worries with a blood pressure of 120/80. This is a good average to shoot for. If you are consistently 10 units higher or lower then you should give your doctor a call and have him check it in the office. Good luck.

Less than 140/90,: Less than 140/90, the closer to 120/80 the better as per the present data. Although too low is not good either. 110 or below may actually be a stroke risk factor. Note that many people with normal BP have stroke and HD as well. Family history is a very important risk factor in my opinion. Many argue that it's not the number, but the BP medicine itself.
