Meno metrhagia: Abnormal uterine bleeding at this age peri-menopausal age most probably from the hormonal changes, but can not be ignored like that, Need to have a examination and investigation to rule out other causes including cancer.

Dysfunctional bleed: Most often in women in their 40's, abnormal periods are a result of hormonal disturbances, what we call Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding. Sometimes ovulation doesn't occur as regularly as usual and can throw cycles and bleeding patterns off. Of course, there can be other causes such as fibroids, polyps, or endometrial pathology (hyperplasia or cancer) so it should be evaluated by a qualified person
