Eye exam: If there is blood in the white of your eye this is a broken blood vessel; however, if you truly feel that something is trying to come out of your eye, I would advise ER evaluation. A broken blood vessel, will cause the white of your eye to fill with blood. If your vision is distorted, go NOW!

Where is it?: If you have a red spot or red area in the white part of your eye, it is most likely a subconjunctival hemorrhage. This happens when a small blood vessel in the white part of your eye breaks. This can happen if you rub your eye hard or sometimes with coughing and sneezing. It usually goes away in a week or so. Something coming out of your eye isn't normal. If this is the case, go to the ER.
