A member asked:

Is the first result on a pregnancy test accurate? can it change from a negative to a positive?

Repeat tests: If you do two pregnancy tests at the same time, and you read the one as positive, the other one as negative, the likelihood is high that one of the tests was done incorrectly. If you think you did everything right, it is best to consult with a doctor's office and have them do the test and blood test, if needed.

Yes, it can: The tests measure a hormone, BhcG, The level increases exponentailly early as the pregnancy progresses, so if you think you might be pregnant, check again in a few days. That said, the urine tests these days are pretty accurate.
