A member asked:

My friend got a blood test for herpes and it came back negative. she has never had any break outs. it is still possible that she could have herpes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely: With the exception of recent infection that has not resulted in a positive antibody response, a negative blood test and history of no breakouts, is reliable in excluding herpes.
