Some possibilities: Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health,but most serious knee injuries to the cartilage holding the knee in place and the ligaments would 1) be inside the joint 2) have swelling 3) have everthing you said "no" to and.... irritation of the tendon attachments (sprain) gives local soreness. Meniscus: The medial meniscus is a cartilage structure at the inner part of the knee which is commonly injured or torn and can cause pain. In most cases the meniscus will improve with simple conservative treatment, ie time, NSAIDs, therapy. Alternatively, pain in that location could also be from the medial collateral ligament, early joint degeneration, or a bone bruise. See a physician if symptoms persist
