A member asked:

I have and iron deficiency, my periods come every few months amd last 2-3 weeks and a very heavy. im not getting pregnant. whats wrong with me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Take iron: Most menstruating women need iron supplement to replace iron lost during menses. Especially true for heavy periods. Irregular heavy periods usually result from cycles when ovulation fails to occur, &uterine lining builds up until it finally sheds all at once. Blood tests can rule out other hormonal problems. Talk to your doctor.
