Have eaten softshell crabs and crabcakes for years. tell me please what causes crab allergies?

Dr. Lee Perry answered

Shellfish protein: The part of the crab (or shellfish) that most commonly leads to allergy is the protein found in the food. I would recommend skin testing to crab and other shellfish at an allergist's office.
