how long until edema resolves after open heart surgery? why does it happen?

Edema: Alot will depend on underlying heart function. If heart function is weak edema may represent cardiac faliure and require medical treatment . If cardiac function normal it should resolve in 7-10 days . Ask your cardiologist !!
