Don't worry: A click is not harmful in and of itself. It's either bones or tendons interacting with each other, causing the sound. You probably have some osteoarthritis, or normal wear and tear, in your neck. The bones move closer together over the years as our disks get old. Try to avoid doing the motion that makes the clicking sound over and over, because that will cause more wear and tear! But don't worry.

Click?: An isolated click is generally of no consequence. If exercise does not produce any symptoms I don't know that cutting back is of any use.
