Is 34 too young to start perimenopause? been passing lots of larger clots and having lots or cramps last couple cycles with this cycle coming late.

Likely not menopause: Having heavier periods and cramps is usually not a sign of menopause. Skipping periods can be, though pregnancy would be a more likely cause. Under the age of 40, we would consider it premature menopause if testing truly shows that your ovaries are failing. You should see your doctor for further evaluation.

Perimenopause : the transition can start at any age but the average is about 45. There are many reasons for heavy menses that are more common in younger women. You will need a thorough exam and work up to determine the cause.
