Treating fatty liver: The best treatment for fatty liver disease is to improve the diet and avoid alcohol consumption. Reducing the amount of saturated fats and high fructose corn syrup and maintaining good calorie control are critical. Coffee has also been shown to help avoid progression of liver disease. Supplements include Vitamin D, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids. Medications include ursodiol and metformin.
