OB-Gyn: Cervicitis is frequently caused by chlamydia infection and which will not go away without antibiotics. Please make an appointment with your primary care physician or OB-Gyn for testing and treatment. Chlamydia and gonorrhea can be excluded with simple urine tests now. There are other reasons for bleeding as well that need to be ruled out.

Cervicitis: Inflammation of the cervix ( "cervicitis") creates a reactive tissue ( ectropion) which bleeds easily on contact (and sexual activity). For removal of the tissue, freezing the cervix (cryotherapy) is sometimes used to allow fresh "normal" tissue to replace the fragile inflammatory tissue. Your healthcare professional can perform this simple therapy.
