What is injected in your arm when getting a tb skin test and is it safe for the baby to get the test when 21+ weeks pregnant?

Yes: It is called PPD for TB testing and there is no known contraindication for getting one unless you were tested positive before.

PPD: Purified protein derivative which are TB proteins which, if you have a previous exposure to TB will cause a reaction called a "wheel." Your baby in utero will be safe as the proteins will stay right where they put them and not cross the placenta.
