Confirmation: While it is certainly possible that you have lose one of your little ones, it is certainly necessary to have it confirmed by another ultrasound. Early pregnancy loss of one twin is not uncommon and if this occurs, the body will naturally "reabsorb" the twin. I am sorry for your news.

Vanished twin: Hi, the dead twin would be absorbed by the other one, so they call that vanished twin, or the dead one would be compressed by the alive one, because you are in your very early pregnancy there is very high chance you carry the other one to term. Stay positive and healthy and follow with your OB doctor.

May not be sure yet: I can't tell the accuracy of the measurements, but if you are at six weeks instead of 7, no heartbeat is seen at the beginning of the 6th week, but is present at the end. In 1 in 5 twin pregnancies detected with early ultrasound, a demise of one twin occurs, so it is so common that you should not be afraid of the outcome. You will know what has happened within a week.
