Injury to Tympanic: membrane is very likely. It is important to have it looked at by your doctor so she can let you know what to expect and what to look out for as the wound starts to heal. Take care.

Abrasion: The skin of the external auditory canal (ear canal) is thin and sensitive. Even mild pressure may result in a scuff and bleeding which is usually self limiting. If deeper, it could result in a hole in the tympanic membrane (ear drum). If irritation persists/ worsens, a physician may prescribe antibiotic ear drops with or without a topical steroid. Remember, no cotton swab use in the ear canal!
